Instructions:
1) Working in groups of 2 or 3 people.
2) Go to  http://quizboard.educatesoftware.com/
3) Create a free account. Remember to save your passwords and usernames in an organized fashion as we will be using many web 2.0 programs during this course and you'll need to access these accounts over and over again.
4) The Free version allows you to create 3 boards.
5) We will create a board with 6 categories:
    - Treaty of Versailles
    - League of Nations
    - Karl Marx
    - Communism/Socialism
    - Your Choice (meant to be something fun)

6) Each section should have 5 questions - 100 -500 which get gradually more difficult
7) Once your quizboard is complete post a link to your website through the PROJECTS section.

- Each section will be worth 5 points - based on detail, quality and gradual difficulty of questions

Activity Description:

1) Using the notes section of your Weebly site, write notes for the following events.
    - The Paris Peace Conferences
    - The Formation of the League of Nations
    - Invasion of Manchuria
    - Invasion of Ethiopia
    - The Ruhr Occupation

- 2) For each topic you must explain the following:
    -When
    -Where
    -What
    -Why
    - Outcome
    - So what (Significance/Impact/Consequences)

Assessment:
Each topic will be assessed out of 6 for completion and quality.

Instructions:
1) Every week students are to read the news and choose  a story or current event that interests them.

2) They are to post a link,  a brief description of the story and a relevant picture

3) Finally students are to comment on their own opinions of the story and why it is relevant or interesting to them.

- Articles will be marked out of /10 and must include the above elements.
- Proper sentence structure and writing quality will be considered
- Comments and opinions must be thoughtful, respectful and intellingent
 
Instructions:

Step 1:  Create a school GMAIL account - (you will be using this to access various web 2.0 tools)

Step 2: Record your username and password in a safe place. I recommend using the note function of your smartphones - Manageing user names and passwords is an important skill in the 21st century. By using the notepad on your smartphone and maintaining a current list of usernames and passwords is necessary to access the important tools available to us on the web. In order to safeguard your list you can password protect your phones and email your lists to a secure email site.

Step 3: Log onto www.weebly.com and create an account. Your site name should be your first name the words History 12 . For example John learns History 12.  It is vital that we are aware of not posting private information online and securing our identities on an open site. 

- Fill out the site information - Choose Education and Class Project
- your site URL should be your first name last intial followed by learnscedarfrench.weebly.com
- Example - justinmlearnscedarhistory.weebly.com

Step 4: Once you've created a site. Choose a design and start adding elements.
1: Me  - choose page option
2: Current Events -choose blog option
3: Notes - choose page or blog option
4: Projects - Choose blog option

Welcome to History 12! This year we will be exploring the events of the 20th century. This course will have a heavy influence of technology and the majority of your work will be presented on the Weebly websites that you create.

Course Description:
French 12 is an exciting course which continues the philosophy of the French 11 program. As with the other French courses, the student’s effort and participation will contribute largely to their success and progress in the class. The course covers the themes of transportation, country life, holidays, and professions. The program will begin with a thorough review of structure and vocab to start the semester.  Students will continue to be involved in a diversity of activities such as: dialogue writing, journal writing, translation, film review, power point presentation creation, filmmaking, iPod and online learning, creating and teaching a major culture project, cooking and participating in the French Amazing Race.  

Resources: 
-  This course will have a strong focus on technology, using various tools such as iPods, Powerpoint, Movie Making software, and a various range of Web 2.0 tools.
-  Students will be expected to have student e-mail account (Preferably g-mail) so that they can take advantage of online learning resources such as Google Doc, and online tutors like Duo-Lingo.
-  Students are expected to purchase a set of 4 coloured Hilroy or equivalent exercise books: Pink – For Journals and Translations, Green – Notes, Yellow for activities and quizzes and Blue as a spare.
-  Students will be occasionally using the “Bon Voyage 1” textbook.

Expectations: 
-  Students are expected to conduct themselves in a mature and professional manner.
-  Students are expected to participate in class and in speaking the French language.
-  Students are expected to be respectful, supportive and open minded and help contribute to a safe and open language community.
